First Day of School

It was a little surreal to wake up late, leisurely prepare breakfast, and not go to school this morning!

So. Much. Fun.

While we waited for the ramps to clear off a little bit, we skated around on the empty basketball court.

Which, was evidently not "enough" for this child, the new Kindergartner.

Heavens to Betsy, those sunglasses!!!  I think they help him get all that air.

He stole Rowen's scooter and used it for jumping practice.  I love him so much, I can barely stand it.

"Yeah, BABY!"

Rowen was happy when he got it back.  He basically just dragged it around :)

Maeson was interested for about 20 seconds, and then he graciously allowed Reise to use his scooter.

Reise did not want a scooter for her birthday at the beginning of the summer.  In fact, when we showed one to her in the aisle at Target she almost started crying because she didn't want one, and felt that strongly about it.  So....a little funny that she's suddenly a big fan!

Either the majority of the big kids got tired, or just got sick of us staring at them...and we finally got in.

For real, with the sunglasses!  He KILLS me!

That's a Diet Pepsi in the right hand, helping Reise (who may just get a scooter for Christmas this year!) with the left.  HA!

Miss Cautious.

Seriously, SO much fun.

And, seriously, we haven't "started" school yet.  Like, we haven't sat in our desks to do any learning.  However, today we: observed our caterpillars (which are in stage 3 of their metamorphosis), counted the money we raised for JDRF at yesterday's kite and fan sale, and wrote thank you notes to practice writing...so, "life is school" is working for us right now.  The last of our books were delivered yesterday, and I think we'll probably officially start next week.  But, something tells me it won't be that much different from what we've been doing all along.  Praise the Lord, I am starting to relax!

Choosing to love,
Becky

Agreed...that you've already been teaching your children the past 7 1/2+ years...and a great job you've done! They are very smart, good kids, every one of them. Go, Miss Becky!
